Silk Chains Singapore Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201804475Z) (“Silk Chains”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”). This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website and our business enquiries, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you.

Personal data we collect

Information you provide. When you send a Request for Quote (RFQ) or otherwise contact us, we collect the details you submit, which may include your name, work email, company, phone or WhatsApp number, and the contents of your enquiry (such as commodity, grade, origin, quantity, destination port, Incoterm and any notes).

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting and security providers may log standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information and the pages you view, together with limited cookies or similar technologies needed to operate and secure the site.

Third-party services. This site uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam and abuse; reCAPTCHA collects device and usage information and is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms. The site is hosted and our forms are processed by Netlify.

How we use your personal data

• To respond to your enquiry or RFQ and provide quotations, samples, specifications and lead times;
• To negotiate, conclude and manage the resulting trade relationship and contracts;
• To operate, maintain, secure and improve this website, including preventing spam and abuse;
• To communicate with you about your enquiry or our products and services; and
• To comply with applicable laws, regulations and lawful requests.

Consent

We collect, use and disclose personal data with your consent, including consent that is deemed to be given under the PDPA when you voluntarily submit an enquiry to us, or where collection, use or disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.

Disclosure of personal data

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose it to:

• companies within the E-Silk Route Ventures group, where needed to fulfil your enquiry or contract;
• service providers and data intermediaries acting on our behalf (for example, website hosting and form processing, communications and logistics partners), under appropriate confidentiality obligations; and
• authorities, regulators or other parties where required or permitted by law.

Transfers outside Singapore

Some of our service providers may process personal data outside Singapore. Where we transfer personal data overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA.

Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out above, or as required for legal, accounting or reporting purposes, after which we securely delete or anonymise it.

We make reasonable security arrangements to protect personal data in our possession or control against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or disposal.

The site uses only the cookies and similar technologies needed to function and to provide security features such as reCAPTCHA. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.
